What’s Your Health Worth – An ER Story

Hi Magical One!

I hope you are doing well.

On Wednesday I spent most of the day in the ER with my hubby.

He was in extreme pain. We thought it might be his appendix. Turns out it was Diverticulitis – where a pouch in the wall of the large intestine become infected and inflamed. Ouch!

While the docs gave him two doses of antibiotics and were monitoring him for any reactions, I took this as my opportunity to run to the house, let the puppy out of her crate to pee and then take her to the dog sitter to stay the night so we could focus fully on resting.

It was during that time that I found out Lee had a reaction to the meds and his blood pressure bottomed out.

He almost died on me…AGAIN!

I wasn’t there for it…AGAIN!

Thankfully he was in the right place for such a thing to happen (I’m pretty sure it’s because they gave him too much morphine and he didn’t have any food in his stomach in case he needed to go to surgery) and they got him back to normal quickly.

This whole experience has been quite the scare and it’s reminded me of how important having good gut health is.

We are thankful that the doctors were able to do their thing and got it under control. Now I’m inundating him with natural pre & probiotics + enzymes + green smoothies to get him back to where he needs to be.

Yes, green smoothies!

They are tremendously helpful in getting stomach acids up to strong healthy levels + have loads of fiber to keep things moving along. The first steps in having a healthy gut.

Without health it’s hard to function and keep business running as usual. (pun intended)

Which reminds me! The next green smoothie challenge is starting on September 5th.

Be sure you are a part of it!
